So for many of you who are or aren’t fans, this short film may confuse you and seem very out of place from what I normally do, and you’d be right. This definitely isn’t the typical “Flash” Cinema 4D animated film you’re all used to seeing. Well, I wanted to do something different, and something that would mean a lot to me. First thing I want to be very open about is that this film relates very closely to my life in many ways. I have Autism, and I have been depressed and felt like nobody cared. I have struggled with medication and hospitalization. It’s helped shape me into who I am today! The idea behind the film was actually based on a play I wrote for my theater class. It ended up doing way better than I ever could’ve imagined and it inspired me to make this film! I was blessed enough to have the wonderful talent of my friends and father to help come together to pull this film off! It was a 4 day film shoot, but in the end I am very pleased with the outcome! Again, I know it’s not what you all are used to, but I hope you find joy and find something you can relate to here!

GIFTED: Short Film Description

Daniel Garcia is a young man in his late teens. He deals with High functioning Autism. For the longest time, Daniel and his father shared a bond unlike any other. But like most good things, nothing is ever perfect. Daniel’s father is known to overwork himself to the point of exhaustion, and it’s taken a toll on both him and his son. It isn’t until Daniel’s father finds out his son has been throwing away his medication that he finally sees the era of his ways. You see, Daniel takes medication to help him with mood stabilization. After Daniel and his father get into a serious argument, Daniel runs away. We cut to a few hours later where we find Daniel has reached out to his best friend Kathryn Padilla. But not all is as it seems as Kathryn is dealing with her own inner demons. In this story we find that you never truly know what someone is going through, and that every word matters!
